Blocked toilet in Rome? I'm there in 30-40 minutes
Toilet not flushing or water rising in the bowl: call me, I unblock toilets at any hour, nights and holidays included.
Why it happens
Wet wipes
Even the ones labelled “flushable” don't break down enough: they're the most common cause.
Sanitary products, cotton buds, cat litter
Only toilet paper goes down the toilet: everything else gets stuck in the bend of the pipe.
Too much paper at once
Especially with old drains or a cistern that doesn't hold much water.
Things dropped in
Toys, caps, toothbrushes: they get stuck and stop everything that comes after them.
Limescale and build-up
In old drains the pipe slowly narrows, until it takes very little to close it.
How I fix it
I clear the toilet and the drain behind it, then check the water goes down properly again.
If the toilet blocks often, I use a camera inspection to look inside the pipe and find out why. If the pipe is damaged, I repair it from the inside with relining, without breaking up the floor.
